Last month I was fortunate enough to schedule in a mini retreat; time to distress and indulge in some rest and relaxation. The Amala, which is located in Seminyak, was my home away from home. This boutique hotel was a slice of heaven. The Amala provides a beautifully intimate atmosphere in which you can indulge in warm balmy nights lounging around the plunge pool, cocktails in hand. The hotel spa is a hop skip and jump away, where you could mosey on down to treat yourself to a massage or two. Memories of stepping out of the shower into the warm tropical air in our private villa will not soon be forgotten.
For those who enjoy expanding their skills in the kitchen, a cooking lesson with Wayan is highly recommended. Together, you prepare a beautiful three course meal; the coconut stuffed pancakes was a real winner. The Amala is an experience unlike any that I’ve experienced in Bali. The perfect retreat for some much needed R&R before returning back to a hectic schedule in Perth.
